Apple’s App Store has apparently given the producers of the Parler app 24 hours to provide their moderation plan after it was used to plan the attack on the US Capitol building. Restored this blog to the internet. This basically involved:
Upgrading all the wordpress plugins and wordpress using the wp cli command
Importing an old XML copy of the blog exported from WordPress
Using Akismet to filter out all the spam comments
Taking the list of missing images and then replacing them by downloading the image from the Wayback Machine from the Internet Archive.
Working out how to use Blocks and all the other changes to WordPress since last I used it to actually write content.
Apple have announced a repair extension program for the following MacBook Pro models to fix video issues:
- MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011)
- MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2011)
- MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2012)
- MacBook Pro (17-inch Early 2011)
- MacBook Pro (17-inch Late 2011)
- MacBook Pro (Retina, 15 inch, Early 2013)
The program starts in Australia and most of the world on 27th of February, but is being tested on Americans and and Canadians from the 20th.
Issues addressed include
- Distorted or scrambled video on the computer screen
- No video on the computer screen (or external display) even though the computer is on
- Computer restarts unexpectedly
