So the folks-in-law have just been told that their iMac G5 (which has been in the shop for 2 weeks awaiting repair for green vertical lines on the screen) is part of a worldwide recall, and they had to drop off the keyboard, mouse etc.
 Will be interesting to see what they get in return, and how long it takes (they’ve been told next week). Good thing they got upsold AppleCare at the time of purchase. Looks like there’s been numerous repair extension programs before.
[Edit: They got a 20 inch Intel iMac as a replacement, and a refund on their remaining AppleCare for the old machine! Then they did buy a new AppleCare warranty 🙂 ]Â
