Apple supporting the No on 8 campaign

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Apple’s Top Stories page includes this one:

October 24, 2008
No on Prop 8
Apple is publicly opposing Proposition 8 and making a donation of $100,000 to the No on 8 campaign. Apple was among the first California companies to offer equal rights and benefits to our employees’ same-sex partners, and we strongly believe that a person’s fundamental rights — including the right to marry — should not be affected by their sexual orientation. Apple views this as a civil rights issue, rather than just a political issue, and is therefore speaking out publicly against Proposition 8.

Apple have handily posted a table with details about activating iPhone 3G connections in various countries.

From which we can glean that if you’ve got a friend coming from the Czech Republic, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Luxembourg, Macau, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Turkey (with TurkCell), then you can get them to buy you an iPhone that’s not locked to a carrier.

Steve Jobs still not dead. Again.

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Apple’s share price took a 3% dive today after someone posted a bogus report of Steve Jobs suffering a “major heart attack” on the CNN ‘citizen journalist’ iReport site. (”Unedited. Unfiltered”, Untrue!) Anyone else notice similarities between Steve’s purported ECG and the Apple stock price?
