It seems that there’s some controversy over Greenpeace’s targeting of the bromine compounds in the iPhone. Whilst Greenpeace knows there are some compounds in there, they haven’t actually done the expensive tests to see what they actually are. However they lay the blame on Apple even though they can’t nail it down exactly, because although every electronic gadget is made pretty much the same way, spotlighting Apple will get Greenpeace more press.
Personally if I were Greenpeace I’d hire an engineer to build a ‘concept’ green PC. Then at least you’d know it could be done with available parts. If they couldn’t build it, it probably indicates that they need to pressure parts suppliers to conform to greener standards.
