You may find the result of the information management review interesting. Try searching for “Macs”. Fairly typical of what I’d expect from consultants these days. Presumably the same argument could be applied to Linux boxen. I’d argue that adopting open standards compliant software would not increase support costs overall regardless of nonhomogeneous platforms.
