I dropped in to my local Apple vendor today and asked them if the new 8GB iPod nano would work with the Belkin TuneTalk Stereo. Sure enough they didn’t need much encouragement to open one that was on the shelf. Fortunately it had enough battery life in it to let it fire up when I plugged the TuneTalk into it, and unlike my 4Gb iPod nano it did actually proceed to record (although I must admit that I did not replay the recording). My 4Gb model displayed a message that said recording was not supported (although it might have improved with a firmware update, I had not been prompted to update the firmware by iTunes 6.x).
Now all they need to do is make a TuneTalk that’s as wide as a nano as opposed to being as wide as the iPod Video.
